6th District At-Large 

Scott Taylor is an attorney and Partner in Miller & Company P.C., a Kansas City based law firm specializing in business and trade development.  His primary role in the firm involves business development and implementation of programs that support U.S. manufacturers and businesses.  In essence, his role is to bring and help retain business and jobs to our economy, in local communities across the nation.  Scott has worked with many municipal, county and state elected officials, from Los Angeles to Jacksonville, as well as with their congressional delegations in Washington D.C.

A resident of Kansas City, Missouri, Scott has served on a variety of community boards involving anti-crime efforts, mental health, drug treatment and education.  He is the Vice President of the Center School District.  He has run for election twice and also led school district bond and levy campaigns.  Working with the other members of the board, teachers and administrators, Center will be recognized by the State of Missouri for achieving the highest level of accreditation - Fully Accredited with Distinction.

Scott coordinated the Learn Green Live Green Initiative in Kansas City, wherein several local businesses donated over $100,000 in materials and services to build several green enhancements, including a greenhouse, for students to integrate green technology into their curriculum.

Scott is also a Commissioner with the Jackson County COMBAT Commission which seeks to reduce crime and violence in the community.  He is a former Chairman of the Board of Directors of ReDiscover Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services which provides drug treatment and counseling services to those who need it most in our community.  Scott is also a former Chair of Kansas City's Liquor Control Board of Review; appointed by Kay Barnes, former mayor of Kansas City.

Scott received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Kansas; an MBA from Rockhurst University; and was awarded a Juris Doctorate from the University of Missouri - Kansas City.  He is a member of the Missouri Bar and the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association.
